Badrinath was re-established place by aadi
shankara in the ninth century. It is located in Chamoli District in the state
of Uttarakhand. Badrinath is one of the four sites in India's CHAR DHAM
pilgrimage. In past days devotees used to walk hundreds of Miles to visit the
Badrinath temple, but now in recent years popularity has increased compared to
earlier days. According to legend Shankara discovered a black stone image of
Lord Badrinarayana made of Saligram stone in the ALAKANANDA RIVER. One legend
has it that when the goddess Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help
suffering humanity, the earth was unable to withstand the force of her descent.
Therefore the mighty Ganga was split into twelve holy channels, with Alaknanda
one of them.
Manasa Devi Temple is located in the city
of Haridwar in the Uttarakhand Sate. The temple is at the top of
the Parvath
on the Sivalik Hills it is the southernmost mountain chain of the Himalayas.
This temple considered as must visit place for all pilgrims. In recent days
Rope way is provided to reach that place. This temple along with the
nearby located Chandi Devi temple is visited by thousands of devotees from
various parts of the country, and especially during the Navratra and the Kumbha
Mela in Haridwar. It is said that goddesses Mansa and Chandi, the two forms of
goddess Parvati always reside close to each other. This belief can also be
found true in other case since near to the Mata Mansa Devi Mandir in Panchkula,
Haryana, there is a Chandi Mandir located nearby in Chandigarh.
Rishikesh is Municipal Board and a in
Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Rishikesh city is from Northern India.
HISTORY of Rishikesh is Lord RAMA penance here for killing the King of Lanka
i.e., Ravana. The Younger Brother of Rama, That is Lakshmana constructed
a bridge present we call that bridge as “Lakshmana Jhula”. Lakshmana
Crossed the river Ganges by “Lakshmana Jhula”. The Bridge stands using Jute
rope. Now the jute rope was replaced by an iron rope suspension in 1889 but in
1924 it was ruined because of flood again, it was replaced by Bridge and its
very strongerRishikesh is also called as “The World
Capital of Yoga”. In the Skanda Purana, this area is known as”Kubjamraka” as
Lord Vishnu appeared, under a mango tree. Other legends say that fierce
fire broke out here. Lord shiva was angry with Lord Agni and curse him. Then
Lord Agni prayed here for the of his sins. Hence it is also known as
“Agni Kshetra”.
Kurukshetra is located in Haryana
State. It is also called as “Dharmakshetra”. We all know that Kurukshetra war
was done in between crows and panda was this war was done on this land. The
Vamana Purana tells us how the King Kuru came to settle on this land. He chose
this land on the banks of the Saraswathi river for embedding spiritually with 8
virtues: austerity (Tapas), truth (Satya), forgiveness (kshama), kindness
(Daya), purity (Suchee), charity (Daan), Yagya and brahmacharya. Lord Vishnu
was impressed with the act of King Kuru and blessed him. The God gave him two , one that this land forever will
be known as a Holy Land after his name as Kurukshetra i.e., the land of and
the other that anyone dying on this land will be going to heaven. The land of
Kurukshetra was situated between two rivers those are the Sarasvati and the
Drishadvati. This land has been known as Uttravedi, Brahmavedi, Dharamkshetra
and Kurukshetra at different periods. When King Kuru came to this land, it was
called Uttarved.
The Tryambakam is located in the town of Tryambak in
the Tryabakeshwar Tehsil in the
district of Nashik of the Maharastra in
India. It is a lord Shiva's Temple. It is located at the River
of Godavari. It is one of the Twelve Jyothirlingas.
